It once served as the Melaka town hall and residence of the Dutch governor, and today houses several small museums, including the Museum of History and Ethnography.

Stop at :  St. Paul’s Hill & Church (Bukit St. Paul)

St. Paul’s Church is a historic church building in Malacca City, Malaysia that was originally built in 1521, making it the oldest church building in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. It is located at the summit of St. Paul’s Hill and is today part of the Malacca Museum Complex comprising the A Famosa ruins, the Stadthuys and other historical buildings.

A Famosa (Malay: Kota A Famosa; “The Famous” in Portuguese) is a former Portuguese fortress located in Malacca, Malaysia. It is among the oldest surviving European architectural remains in Southeast Asia and the Far East. Porta de Santiago (the only remaining structure of the Portuguese Fortaleza that was not destroyed by the British) Stand at the very street upon which the news of the country’s independence was first announced!

Jonker Street (Jalan Hang Jebat)runs through the heart of Chinatown in Melaka’s city center and was once known primarily for its antique dealers. Those on the hunt for Malaysian artifacts and relics—authentic and otherwise—will still find these rare items, but the area has evolved to include clothing boutiques, craft shops, and restaurants as well.

Stop at : Kampung Kling Mosque

Kampong Kling Mosque is an old mosque in Malacca City, Malacca, Malaysia. The Kampung Kling Mosque is situated at Jalan Tukang Emas (Goldsmith Street), also known as “Harmony Street” because of its proximity to the Sri Poyatha Moorthi Temple and Cheng Hoon Teng Temple. The mosque is one of the traditional mosques in Malacca, which still retains its original design. The architectural design of the mosque is a cross between Sumatran, Chinese, Hindu, and the Malacca Malay. The kampung kling mosque is named based on the place where Indian traders dwell in that place called Kampung Kling. The minaret resembles a pagoda. The mosque also has a blend of English and Portuguese glazed tiles, Corinthian columns with symmetrical arches in the main prayer hall, a Victorian chandelier, a wooden pulpit with Hindu and Chinese-style carvings, and Moorish cast iron lamp-posts in the place of ablution for pre-prayer cleansing.

Stop at : Melaka Maritime Museum

Melaka Maritime Museum is a replica of the Flor de la Mar, a Portuguese ship said to have been carrying loot plundered from Malacca when it sank off the coast of Malacca on its way back to Portugal. Opened to the public in 1994, this unique museum is an enlightening trip back into Malacca’s past. The 34m-high, 36m-long and eight-metre-wide structure is located at Quayside Road (right beside the. Set 10 minutes away from the Dutch Square, the Melaka Maritime Museum is divided into the different eras that Malacca has gone through, from the Melaka Sultanate period, to Portuguese, Dutch and British rule. The Melaka Maritime Museum aims to highlight Malacca’s importance back in the day as ‘a regional and international business centre’. Displays include artefacts and documents from the Malacca Sultanate, Portuguese, Dutch and British administration era that reveal why political control of Malacca was essential to maritime dominance of the region. Additionally, there is a collection of model ships as well as reading material on Malacca’s history and famous Malaccan legends such as Hang Tuah.

Stop at : Malacca River (Sungai Melaka)

The Malacca River (Sungai Melaka) cuts across the city of the same name, now most commonly spelled Melaka, and is also known as the Melaka River. In recent years, the river has been revitalized into a top destination, with both Malaysians and international visitors coming to soak in its history and marvel at the diverse architecture from the city’s Portuguese, Dutch, and British heritage.
